Project Netherby was designed as a forever home for a client who struggled to decide whether to sell up or demolish and start anew. After consulting with ASD, we demonstrated the potential for renovating/extending given the property’s prime location. With the client’s budget, renovating/extending meant that we could prioritise spaces of importance and provide a home that incorporated tailored design features suited to retirement living – including swim spa and bespoke potting/work shed.

The design focuses on the relationship to the surrounding landscaped garden – an important feature of the home. The property’s existing cactus collection was central to the mid-century modern design and the materials selected remaining authentic to that aesthetic. Ample light and connection to the landscape were achieved with generous sky lights, glass corridor, large bi-folding glass doors and a master ensuite linked to a private garden atrium.
